We use sophisticated hedging strategies to minimize loss of principle. Hedging strategies include using money markets (borrowing and lending platforms), perpetual futures, and dated futures.
For hedges using futures contracts, we use robust execution platforms that minimize or eliminate leg risk. We also use fixed rate loans where available in order to best estimate and project returns.
Market neutral and delta neutral are two different words that mean the same thing.
Market neutrality describes an investment that is not affected by its underlying asset's volatility. If a market neutral strategy uses BTC and BTC goes up, the strategy does not necessarily benefit; more importantly, if BTC goes down, the strategy does not lose value.
The principal is therefore protected from volatility. However, regardless of wether the market goes up or down, you continue to earn above market yield.
Here's another way to think about it: if you invested $1 million USD into the fund and the yield was 12% and the market crashed like it did recently, 12 months after you invested your investment would be worth $1.12 million USD because of our market neutral trading strategies protect the principle of our investors.
Our performance remains the same wether the market crashes or goes up because of our proprietary market neutral trading system.
In more technical terms, because all of our volatile exposure is shorted at a 1:1 ratio, whatever decrease in value our longs experience will be directly offset 1:1 by our shorts.
The best way to learn about some of our trading strategies is by following our CIO, Stephen Henkel, on his YouTube channel "The Calculator Guy."
At this time yes.
Many crypto funds invest in many different types of tokens and crypto companies taking a VC approach to investing, knowing they will lose on most of their investments with hopes of having a few big wins. However, Green Moose Capital has created a very disciplined investment strategy that focuses on two things. First, protecting our investors principle with our proprietary market neutral hedging system and second, looking for the best safe yield trades that earn our investors above market yield regardless of market performance.
